Luz attended Philippine College of Commerce where she earned her Bachelors in Accounting in 1974. After college, Luz arrived in the United States with her siblings in May 1975. Luz met Tony in February 1978. They were married on June 27, 1981 in Hayward where they resided and began raising their 4 children. They moved to Washington state in 1994. She worked for The Boeing Company for 18 years and fulfilled her dream of watching her four kids graduate from the University of Washington in Seattle. Luz then spent the next 10+ years going on pilgrimages and traveling all over Europe with her husband and siblings.
Luz retired early in 2015 to take care of her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She was a hands-on Lola with an unbelievable amount of patience and love for the chaos. She enjoyed reading to them, praying with them, and attending all their activities.
Luz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed.
