Born on December 11, 1944 in Kalibo, Philippines, Madeliene Luces Sanchez passed away at the age of 80 on March 2, 2025 from a sudden onset of acute severe pancreatitis. After attending high school at Kalibo Institute, she proceeded to Northwestern Visayan Colleges where she received a degree in Secretarial Science with high honors.
She had resided in the US for the past 40 years, and worked at Bank of America for over 20 years before enjoying a relaxing and travel-filled retirement.
Madeliene was preceded in death by her husband Ricardo, her parents Odelon & Adelina, her sister Tessybel, and her brother Fernando. She is survived by her son Paolo (Jessie Purcell), daughter Erika, and granddaughter Stevie Mae. She also leaves her sibling Suzette, her siblings-in-law Danny, Eddie, Nina, Andy, Ramon, Maria, Merceditas, their families, and many close friends.
Madeliene was truly family oriented, generously caring for her loved ones both in the states and the Philippines. She danced through life, enjoying it to the fullest from keeping up with the latest “movie house” releases, savoring her favorite cuisines, trail walks, gardening, and daily Wonderword puzzles to traveling the globe and making her granddaughter laugh.
She will always be remembered for her silly demeanor, easy-going nature, resilience, and thoughtfulness for her family & friends. Madeliene’s zest for life and wise idioms will be dearly missed by all those she touched.
