

Her passions included drawing, serving others, studying the bible, taking road trips, making others laugh and taking long bus rides. Nana, as she they called her, especially loved being there for her children
Sister Duncan was an active member, serving in many different ministries, for over 20 years at To God Be The Glory located in Seattle, WA. Becoming an Ordained Minister was amongst many of her spiritual accomplishments.
Miss Marilyn worked at the YWCA for 11 years as a childcare provider. Marilyn spent many of her early years as a CNA. She assisted her daughters with the care of their foster children. She was also a home health care provider in her most recent years.
Marilyn is survived by her 5 children. Nana leaves 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grand daughter to celebrate her 'Baby Sister' or 'Auntie Meme' also leaves to cherish her memory 13 siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother, her father and her mother.
Marilyn would like to let you know that her work here is done. God has called her home. She'll be watching from above. Marilyn, Sister Duncan, Miss Marilyn, Auntie Meme, Baby Sister, Nana or Mom, however you called her name, says to "smile when you 'REMEMBER ME', laugh when you re-tell my stories, take a long bus ride when you want to sit next to me and to love each other like there's no tomorrow".
A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 10am Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora avenue north, Seattle, WA 98133, with viewing one hour prior to service. Repast will begin at 2 pm at Freedom Church of Seattle located at 7817 s. 125th Street.
