With heavy hearts and deep love, we celebrate the life of Marion Dee Dean, who passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2025, just shy of her 71st birthday. Her life was beautifully lived—defined by love, loyalty, and a warmth that touched everyone she met.
Born on May 31, 1954, Marion was raised in rural Louisiana, where she learned the values of family, faith, and resilience. In 1969, her family moved to Seattle, Washington—a journey by train that marked the start of a new adventure and a new chapter. She later settled in Chula Vista, California, where she spent her later years in joyful service.
Marion was retired but never idle. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she had an active and dedicated ministry. She found deep purpose in preaching, conducting Bible studies, and supporting members of the deaf community—connecting through compassion and faith.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: traveling, dining out, and spending time with those she loved. Her loyal dog, Jack, was her companion and friend, always by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dean; her parents, Leona H. Lewis and Harrison Lewis, Jr.; and her brother, Steven James Lewis. She missed them dearly and held their memory close.
Marion is survived by her sister, Mary Agha, and her niece and nephew, Mikie Agha and Maxine Agha, to whom she was so much more than an aunt—she was a second mother, a guiding light, and a cherished companion in life.
Marion's niece, Maxine, lovingly shares: Auntie was the kindest and sweetest person I have ever known. She was always helping me and others, like a second mom to me. I’ll always remember her smile, her cheerfulness, and the joy she brought into every room.
Her sister reflects with deep affection: My beautiful sister was like a second mother to me. We did everything together. She supported me so much—especially when I was raising my two children. Marion and her husband were my backbone, my everything. We grew up where there was nothing but farmland, and Seattle felt like stepping into a new world. That journey, and the life we built, meant everything to us.
When Marion received her cancer diagnosis, her courage never wavered. It revealed the quiet strength that had always been there—the grace, compassion, and deep joy that defined her life and faith.
When Marion passed, family and friends grieved this great loss. Her presence will be missed beyond measure, but her memory will be a guiding light.
Marion Dee Dean will be remembered for her faith, her laughter, her embrace—and for the steadfast love she gave to all who knew her. Beautiful inside and out, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, family devotion, and enduring joy.
