

He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 31st, 1952 to his late parents, Carl William and Shirley June Shortridge
After graduation at Start High School, he completed his master’s degree in Child Psychology at the University of Toledo. Mark started his career as a social worker in Toledo Ohio for several years then moved to Seattle as a communications specialist for AT&T. Later he joined Boeing for over 35 years as a HR Manager and retired in 2015. His love for working at Boeing was endless- he made many friends and was highly respected for his contributions. Mark loved all forms of playing golf and marshalling at the local golf courses in Seattle. He also loved hiking, fishing and exploring nature in the Northwest area. While he never married, relationships with friends and relatives were paramount by keeping in touch.
Mark was preceded in death by his sister Mary Buck (sister) and his parents. Mark is survived by his sister Ruth (Ron) Johnson, brother John (Lora) Shortridge, Son-in-law Mike (Deb) Buck, including nieces and nephews: Bryan (Anna) Johnson, Kim Sauber, Megan (Phil) Weiss, Matthew Shortridge, Julie Buck, Aimee (Adam) Bennett, Christy Buck-Hutchins, Nick Buck, Rose (Ryan Haggard) Buck, Erin Buck. Great Nieces and Nephews: Leah Sauber, Evan Sauber, Cameron Buck, Mckenzie Buck, Gavin Bennett, Connor Bennett, Alec Bennett, Levi Lada, Iris Lada, Ayden Haggard, Annabelle Haggard, Findlay Haggard, Haselmarie Haggard. Nancy Larue, Melody (Rich) Stewart, Carl Glosch, Jeff Glosch, Lauri Demuth, Michelle Bristole, Kathy Shortridge, Mary Lou Shortridge, Craig Williams and many cousins on the Shortridge side.
To honor Mark’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or public funeral services in Seattle. Alternatively, a graveside service at Toledo Memorial Park will be scheduled in a month or so. See Mark’s Facebook for exact date and time.
