Mary's grandparents arrived in Baltimore after leaving Bavaria on a small boat. Mary was born and raised in Rochester N.Y. She was educated in Catholic schools which provided a foundation for selfless love of volunteering to the needs of others residing in orphanages, veterans hospitals, and nursing homes. She completed these duties 2-3 times a week from her mid-twenties until her late seventies. One of her proudest achievements was when she was asked to be on the ground breaking committee for St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Rochester. She met and married the love of her life H. William Earl after meeting him at a dance. During their 56 years together, they raised two daughters and shared their love for animals, travel, tennis, and gardening. She instilled an appreciation for the arts and exposed her children to theater, music, and ballet performances at Eastman Theater. She moved to Ashland and later Seattle, after her husband retired from General Motors in 1977. She is preceded in death by her parents Anna and Edward, her brother Cletes, her husband H. William, and her son-in-law Carl. She is survived by her daughters Melissa and Dianna, and her son-in-law J.R. A special thanks to the professional and caring staff at UWMC and Elena Rimas's AFH. So long dearest Mary we shall miss you terribly.
