Moira was born and raised in Ireland. Most of her youth was spent in County Cork where she lived with her parents, sister, and brother. At the age of twelve, Moira and her younger sister Sally left home to attend Catholic boarding school in Dublin. They were always happy to return to Cork in the summers to spend time with family and relatives.
Upon finishing boarding school, Moira attended nursing school in London, England. Shortly after being employed as a nurse in London she was inspired to immigrate to the beautiful Northwest of America. While in Seattle she met and married her first husband, William Henry Anderst. They had many adventures, backpacking, skiing and mountain climbing in the Cascade Mountains. Moira summited Mt. Rainier three times along with many other peaks. Moira and Bill had four children and they all shared in the love of the great outdoors.
Moira continued the pursuit of higher education and learning. First she completed her RN in nursing and then earned her Masters in Nursing from the University of Washington. She accomplished this while raising her family. Upon graduation, Moira began her professional career working as a nurse with the Tacoma School District. After retiring from the school system she worked at numerous community clinics.
In 1980, Bill passed away in a tragic car accident. However, this did not stop Moira from continuing to live a full and adventuresome life. In the years that followed she traveled to many different countries including China, Nepal, India, and Jamaica.
In 1987, she met and married her second husband James David Morrison Morris. "Jas" had six children from a previous marriage thus bringing the combined families to a total of ten children. Over time the family grew to include twenty-four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Jas and Moira continued honoring the spirit of adventure with travel throughout the Northwest and to various countries around the world. In her later years, Moira had some physical discomfort, but her zest for life and family never diminished. In the last 10 years of her life she and Jas spent in assisted living. They were a delight to those around them, holding hands, and enjoying each other.
Moira was preceded in death by her mother Mary and father Dermot Nagle, sister Sally (Nagle) Jorgensen, and husband James "Jas", She is survived by her four biological children Erika DeCaire (Phil), Eugenie "Jeannie" Anderst, Bill Anderst (Ann), and Elisabeth O'Brien (Dan).
