Mollie Iris Green was born in London, England, on July 7, 1921 to Ida and Edward (Teddy) McLaren. She married Arthur (Jim) Green in Leicester during WWII and moved to Northamptonshire, his home county, and had their two children, Daphne Elizabeth and Andrew McLaren. Eventually the family settled in Long Sutton, Somerset, in their beloved Spring Villa, happily hosting friends and family until they immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s, where they set up home in Seattle, and for a short time, North Carolina.
Mollie was always the most generous, loving and friendly person, and the greatest wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She loved her French, aerobics, tai-chi and European country dancing classes, and all the friends she made there, which she attended until she was in her 80s. She spent her last few years, as her stroke-induced illness progressed, in the loving care of Tina Ghitescu of Bothell.
Mollie is preceded by her beloved husband Jim, parents Ida and Teddy, and sisters Lorna and Hazel. She is survived by children Daphne and Andrew, daughter-in-law Debbie, grandchildren Robbie, Max, Lorna, Breanne and Shawn, nieces Deborah, Moira and Fiona, great-grandchildren Corrie, Ben, Max, Javon, Dereece, Alissa, Justin, Jack and Kate, and great-great-granddaughter Zipporah.
