Myra was born on February 8, 1957 to Leo (Yock Lai) Yee and Peggy (Yit Peng) Yee in Sunnyside, Washington. During her youth, she excelled both academically and athletically. She also worked alongside her family at their restaurant, the Golden Pheasant, where she could often be found waiting tables and contributing to the family business.
She attended the University of Washington from 1975 to 1979, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. While there, she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and played on the University of Washington women’s basketball team. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law (1979–1982). Later, she pivoted careers and obtained a certification in Computer Systems and Programming from the Computer Learning Center in Los Angeles, launching a long and successful career in information technology.
Myra met her late husband, Alastair, in Los Angeles, California. They were married in October 1991 at Snoqualmie Falls, Washington. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Asia, living in Singapore and Hong Kong, where both worked in the information technology field. Over five years abroad, they embraced the opportunity to explore new cultures and the beauty of the region. They later returned to the United States and settled in Bellevue, Washington, where they raised their two children, Caroline and Brandon.
Myra had a long and accomplished career in information technology. Notably, she dedicated more than 20 years of her professional life to Alaska Airlines, where she built a respected career before retiring in 2018.
In retirement, Myra and Al moved to Bellingham, Washington. She remained active and engaged, enjoying the natural beauty of the region, working the occasional shift at Trader Joe's, and volunteering at the Mount Baker Theatre.
Myra was known for her zest for life. She loved traveling to new places, trying new recipes, skiing, and cheering on the Seattle Seahawks. A lifelong learner, she played both bass guitar and saxophone and stayed curious about the world around her. She found joy in gathering family, cooking and sharing good food, and, above all, spending time with her granddaughter, Julia. She lived with hope, perseverance, and a deep devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo (Yock Lai) Yee and Peggy (Yit Peng) Yee, and husband Alastair Ramsay.
Her survivors include brothers Jeffrey Yee, Paul Yee, and David Yee; her son Brandon Ramsay; her daughter Caroline Ramsay; her son-in-law Thomas Coppola; and her granddaughter Julia Coppola.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 7, 2026, at Butterworth Funeral Home in Seattle, Washington.
