Nancy Marie Gendreau, 55, 3702 S. 138th Street, Tukwila, WA, departed to our Father’s Heavenly Kingdom on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Nancy made her transition, after a long battle with cancer, at her home surrounded by her children and loving husband.
Nancy was born on October 2, 1956 to Ernest Andrew Michels and Angeline Margaret Rohde Michels of Cando, ND. She married Wilmer Omer Gendreau of Walhalla, ND on October 4, 1975 and lived in Langdon, ND until they moved to Washington State in 1979. Nancy loved people and spent many years as a cashier wining numerous customer service awards in her tenure. Nancy was an avid collector, and fan of Betty Boop. Nancy was a strong and influential person in all of her children’s lives, often being characterized as stubborn, but with a malleable disposition. Nancy loved plants and flowers; keeping a tradition with her children of planting her garden every spring, she often remarked that horticulture would be an ideal second carrier. Nancy’s thriftiness and money saving skills earned her the title of “Skilled Bargainer” by her children, in a loving way; this skill has translated over to them and they thank her very much for it.
Nancy is survived by, daughters Tami Marie Williams of Renton, WA, and Emily Margaret Gendreau Rodriguez of Seattle, WA; sons Jason William Gendreau of Spanaway, WA, and Matthew David Gendreau of Tukwila, WA. She is survived by five grandchildren, Madeline Marie Williams, Nathan Conrad Gendreau, Noah George Williams, Dylan Matthew Gendreau, Alex Oscar Gendreau and a sixth baby boy on the way. Nancy is also survived by daughters-in-law Gina Janae Gendreau and Cori Lynn Combs; sons-in-law Henri Emil Williams and Mario Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
