Nina shared boundless love and lighthearted playfulness with everyone around her, whether she, her parents and five siblings were living in New Jersey, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Finland, or finally in the Greater Seattle area. Nina primarily raised her family in Marysville, WA, with Dale Wagner who share three children and six grandchildren so far. The last seven years she and her partner Janet built a home and beautiful garden together in Auburn, WA.
Nina lived life in a peaceful and giving manner. She will be remembered for her easygoing demeanor, her giving heart, her love of music (and karaoke!), her jokes and pranks, her baked ziti, pasties and otherwise mastery in the kitchen, her love of all kinds of animals, her Christmas stockings bursting at the seam, and her captivating nature with children. Nina was rarely without a funny story or quirky joke, and when she was, she could weave a great story on the spot.
Nina and her grandchildren adored each other, and when not in person, she spent her time with them texting, video chatting, TikTok-ing, and sending post cards. She worked at Puget Sound Energy for 19 years where she was universally loved and respected.
Nina is survived with love in their hearts by her loving partner Janet Summers, her three children Pete (Kelli) Wagner, Natalie (Derek) Lockett and Clint (Ana) Wagner, her six grandchildren Gianna, Delilah, Trippe, Quinn, Cruz and Olivia, her four siblings Jennifer, Daniel, David and Eva, nieces and nephews, her church community, and countless friends.
In lieu of a formal memorial or flowers, Nina’s family asks you to honor her memory in a way she would appreciate, by donating to a charity she often volunteered for, Teen Feed.
