Age 77, was born February 24, 1926 in Mounds, IL to Otis and Sarah Rhodes. She passed away March 15, 2003 in Seattle, WA. Opal was employed 16 years at Shoreline Community College until her retirement in 1988 and as a Head Start teacher at Rainier Vista. She is survived by her daughters Gail and Tamera Lindsey, grandchildren: Enrique Black; Shakina, Jasmine and Wendell Coston; Zakyia, and Malik Davis. Opal is also survived by her sister Althea Darling, special friends Mr. and Mrs. Gandara and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
