With humble and regrettable hearts our loving family shares the passing of our father, Paul Hadley Silva, on the morning of June 4th, 2021. Born in Southern California on August 25, 1943 and adopted by Joseph and Helen Silva, trained with the Marine Corp Reserve at Camp Pendleton in the early 60’s and married our mother, in our home, on November 30, 1972. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Seattle temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 30, 1996.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kiris Ceres Munoz, their children Diana (Regan) Keo, Marvin Sweeting, Tanya Freeman and George (Jodilyn) Silva, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Paul was never too busy to support the family in everything they did, from church, to mom’s day care to choir, orchestra, basketball, volleyball, softball, football, soccer, track meets, gymnastics meets, etc. Paul was a popular fixture in Seattle sports and recreation for years. He was president of the Seattle Rugby Club for many years, then acted as line judge for most home games after aging out of play.
He found great happiness and fellowship in service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, “finally” baptizing into the church in November of 1995. His 25 year fight with cancer and it’s lingering effects finally took its toll and our father’s spirit was released into his saviors arms early on a Friday morning. We’ll miss you at the game, Papa.
Services will be held Saturday, June 26th, 11am at the chapel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 16500 124th Ave NE, Woodinville, WA 98072. The family will lay the body to rest at Abbey View in Brier, WA.
