Richard Geoffrey Jeffries

Richard Geoffrey Jeffries passed away peacefully on July 12, 2022 in Seattle, WA at the age of 84. Rick was born in Los Angeles. CA on October 20, 1937 and grew up in Glendale, Ca. After graduating from Hoover H.S in 1956, Rick joined the Navy and made his way to Seattle where he has lived and raised his children for over 60 years. He was known for being a hard worker – an attribute he instilled in all his children and grandchildren.

Rick retired from the Teamsters Union after 40 years of service working for various companies like Best Pies, Vitamilk Dairy, Grandma’s Cookies just to name a few and ending his career with Overall Laundry Services. Besides working full time as a delivery driver, Rick worked for Diamond Parking Service part time for over 50 years, starting as a night manager at the Town & Country Club in 1964 and ending with managing several garages downtown. In 1970 he opened and ran the lot at the lower Queen Anne QFC for over 30 years parking cars for various events at the Seattle Center such as Seattle Super Sonics games and music concerts. He also was the parking supervisor at the Kingdome from the start to the finish.

Rick had a bigger than life personality and was a people person through and through. He likened himself as being “street smart” and was friends with countless people from all walks of life.

Rick is survived by his wife, Janis Jeffries of 47 years. He had 5 children: Rick Jeffries., Jennifer Tiesi (Tom), Julie Morse, Jill Daher, and Jay Jeffries, 6 granddaughters: Jasmine & Olivia Morse, Caroline, Francesca & Amelia Tiesi, and Jesse Daher and 2 great grandchildren: Jordan Sarjeant and Ione Moriarty. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer and his sisters Kay & Natasha.

Visitation will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, Thursday, July 28th, 2pm-5pm. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 29th, 11am with the memorial service following, 12pm-3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association. Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, Seattle.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133 followed by a reception at 12:00 PM, in the Evergreen Washelli Celebration Hall.
