Richard "Sandy" Sanderson passed away peacefully on March 30, 2015. He was surrounded by his wife of 60 years and his three daughters. Richard was born on May 6, 1930 in Seattle, Wash. He graduated from Franklin High School and went on to join the Army. When he returned home he worked at Western Union where he met his wife Jean. He graduated from the University of Washington and then worked as a business manager at Pacific NW Bell for 28 years where he retired from and went on to become a realtor with Remax for the next 10 years. Richard enjoyed country western music. He received his first guitar for his high school graduation gift from his parents. He enjoyed playing and singing for friends and family. When working at PNB he put together a band called the Country Connection and then after leaving Remax he put together a seven piece band called the Rhythm Riders. They played country gospel music for retirement centers and nursing homes along with many other venues. Richard's passion was playing his guitar, but his true passion was his family and God. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Jean; daughters, Debbie (Bob) Harrison, Denise Sanderson, Deanna (George) Zaharick; grandchildren, Jeff Harrison and Jodie (Chris) Romberger; great grandchildren, Taylor and Tru Harrison, Jaiden and Skylar Romberger; along with his sister, Donna Gustafson. We will all miss you dearly but know you are up in Heaven putting your new band together. Keep on yodeling.
