Just had to check in again. After 9 years know you're smiling with Debbi back in your arms. Doing our best to uphold your tradition of keeping the love around all our friends. We miss you so much but one of these days we'll be collecting hugs again.

What a wonderful man Rick was.I will always remember that warm smile of his and all of his stories he had to tell. He would start off by asking if he'd ever told you the story about... You knew you had probably heard it at least a dozen times before, but it was so much fun to listen to it again that you didn't care.I also remember the warm greetings he'd give strangers in the bar..."who the hell are you?" in about half an hour they would be laughing talking about the Beattles and Dick's drive-in like they had been buddies forever. I was very proud to be your friend.I will miss you terribly.Hope you're spending your days fishing with Jim and doing pull tabs with Jack.Keep telling your stories.You'll be in our hearts forever.

Yes, jokes and campfire stories will always be Rick's forte! We'll miss those along with his warm smile, his great hugs, his friendship and we'll just miss Rick. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our lives, the gift of all your stories, pictures and memories.  We love you lots.

PaPa Rick will be with me always - The Greatest father-in-law ever and the only father I could ever count on.  My heart aches for his passing but find some comfort in knowing he is up fishing on a river full of salmon, eating to many Dicks cheese burgers -followed by a handful of M&M's!!  I feel truely blessed to of been part of his life....

I met Rick off and on throughout the years in association of being Cody and Andrew's grandfather and he was always a very pleaseant good natured man.  My heart goes out to his entire family for their loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting "Rick" at his granddaughterâ€™s birthday this year for the first time. Rick was very sweet, full of laughter and love for his family. It was a pleasure to meet him that day, as it was a day I will always remember a man who is truly loved! God bless you and all your family!

Bob and I were thinking about you this morning when we passed by a metro bus. We could almost picture you driving it and waiving as we passed by with that big smile of yours.We all have such great memories of you, silly little things you'ld do like your Randy Johnson imitation or how you'ld stare off into space and say "yep... nothing like eating peanut butter off a spoon.   we remember the time you and Debbi came over and you decided to do somersaults in the hot tub. Don't know how you managed to hold on to your drink and your cigarette but you did.It was fun to watch the Bee Gees with you guys too. You'ld just shake your head and say "It just does'nt get any better than this" You've left alot of people with alot of great things to remember about you and We know that will help ease the pain of you not being here.You will never be forgotten. We only knew you from the few times we saw you at China Chef and the stories from my mom, Lauri.  We instantly liked you.  You had us howling within five minutes of meeting you when you told us your story of "Idlewood Park" and how you'd ask anyone you had a bone to pick with if they'd like to take a walk down to Idlewood park with you.  That was a reference to the true crime book written about a park down the street from where we live.  This was just one story you told many years ago that I remember vividly. It was nice to have known you while we did.

You don't say goodbye to a friend like Rick,He lives on in your heart forever

I haven't seen Rick or the rest of the Skouges since I was a kid, but have great memories of family camping trips with Mike, Lori, my  brothers and our parents. I remember Rick always had a story to tell, and a great way of telling it. I hadn't thought about the time we spent with the Skouges in years, but hearing about Rick's passing made me pause and reflect on the dimming of one of the brighter lights in my memory. God bless and keep Rick's family in their time of mourning.

You have left a legacy of love.
Even in this sad time..one can not think of you, without it bringing a smile, and a warm stirring of the heart.
You were one of a kind...and you will be greatly missed...but you will remain with us forever. 

"Auntie Debbi" We will always remember the special times spent with "Uncle Rick" in Vantage...the stories and laughter and hugs will last us a lifetime. We love all of you Skouge's very much. Thank you, Uncle Rick, for all the good times -camping at May Creek; singing the "All In The Family" theme song with me at Vantage; funny stories that never got old; slide shows and endless pictures; Gordo's, Dick's, and the meaning of "double goop and pick" @ Zesto's, just to name a few. You were the best uncle a girl could have. You'll be in my heart always! 

Thank you for always letting me call you my Uncle. You included me and my family into yours, always. The memories of the holidays will never leave, the stories that never got old and all those M&M's that you counted! You smile lives on in my heart. 

 We only had the opportunity to meet this extended family once,unfortunately it was under adverse circumstances. We had to admire the closeness of this family. With this experience we have met some wonderful people that will never be forgotten. It is truly an inspiration to see a family as close as this. It was a priviledge for us to be a part of it for a day.

I wish Harold and I had gotten to know you and Rick better. We talked with you and Rick only a few times in the 12 years that we have lived next to you. We miss his truck starting and imagining where you were off to on your vacations for weeks at a time. I emphathize with your grief, Debbi. I will always see you and Rick on the deck. Please come over if you need to talk or jsut have a beer. I have good ears and a big heart. You are in my thoughts daily. Your next door neighbor, Barb. 

From the day you befriended me, Rick and Debbie, it's been a joy and a pleasure to be a part of your family.  Our friendship is special to me. From the "doorstop" to the horse shoe pit, to the BBQ's in the yard and the Christmas parties I have a lot of happy memories to savor.

rick is, was, and always will be a great father,grandfather,and friend. all memories i have of rick were great but i think some of the best were at his house during christmas. he was always smiling, even when he wasn't stealing my gifts. but the best is on christmas morning when we would go to rick and debbis for coffee and breakfast and watch the kids open gifts. i only knew rick for six years but it felt like it was much longer then that, him and debbie made me feel like i was a part of the family from day one. and to debbie i have to say i love you and if ever you need anything you can always call on me.

It's easy to take someone you love for granted. I wish I had told Rick one more time how much I loved him! I am thankful that my son met him, even once. I knew Rick for 26 years, my whole life. I am a better person for knowing him. I have a million fond memories, I am thankful for them all. Rick, I hope the beer is colder and the fish are bigger! I love you and will never forget you! 

Rats...I've been out of touch.  Stopped by the house when I was in town, but Rick was one of those guys that was going to live forever - his personality was too strong to ever let him go.  If anyone reads this, please give my condolences to Deb and the kids.  Rick was a great friend, and a genuine person.  Nary a duplicitous bone in his body.  He and I had some great times together, and he was quite likely the nicest guy I ever knew.
