I was smiling as I read all the messages.  The Lien family is so blessed to have had Bob in their lives.  I did not know Bob, except by the internet.  Let's see if I can say this correctly...my husband's grandparents took care of Bobs father and others, treating them as their adoptive children.  Don's parents are John and Lucille Rasmussen.  My husband, Don, and I have adopted 29 children, so it has been so enjoyable reading the diary, and to have a bit of communication through email with Bob.  I wish I had taken the time to visit him in person, to have taken a minute or two to write more to him, to learn from him, to know his heart for the Lord.  I know I would have been blessed.  My heart goes out to his whole family, and all the dear friends he has had over the years.

Bob was an incredible person who deeply loved and served others right to the very end.  His devotion to Christ was an inspiration to all who came to know him.  To the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.  It was a privilege to have fellowshipped with Bob over the years.  Blessings and grace to you.

Daddy, We just left Evergreen-Washelli after the viewing. You looked handsome as usual. They did a good job of making you look like yourself.It was really tough saying good-bye to you for the last time. I will never see your sweet face of love again until we meet in Heaven. I love you and miss you so much already. I can hardly believe this is real. You left us so suddenly. I will see you when my time here is over.xoxoxo

Dear Lillian & family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. Bob will be truly missed. He had a ministry of love and compassion. Blessings on you and family.

My parents Paul and Galveda were contemporaries with Bob clear back to the 40s, fellowshipping at the downtown The Little Chapel... And Bob as a teenager has known me since I was a month old baby brought to church by my folks and he has called me Dougie ever since.  We and my folks will miss his friendship and visits.  Thanks Bob.

There are no words to describe the devastation I feel at the sudden loss of Uncle Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Lillian, as well as the rest of the family. I feel truly blessed to have known him. He will be sorely missed. 


Dear Sis. Lillian, Marilyn, Ed and family:
Though so far, my heart aches with yours, as wonderful memories come to mind of Bro Bob. There was many a time, when he would come to me during the Sat Night Prayer Mtng and pray for me, he encouraged me to seek the Lord and to discern what God's specific calling for my life was. He was so excited when at last I did end up in France, and assured me of his prayers. Heaven is getting crowded, as we all prepare to spend eternity together.  May his life and death produce much fruit!

The loss of a loved one is always a difficult time -- I  will keep you all all in my thoughts and prayers  !

All my love and prayers are with you and the family during this time.  Bob was an incredible servant of the Lord and will be greatly missed.  His life touched so many of our lives.  Heaven is rejoicing!

My thoughts and prayers for your entire family as you deal with this difficult time. He sounds like he was a fantastic person who touched the lives of so many and  had  such a positive impact  on everyone he met.

Bob has been my brother and friend from when I first arrived in Seattle in 1965.
We both experienced peace and storms, never to come in the way of worship, steadfastness and loyalty. Thank you Bob.

Can you imagine the reception Bob received when he entered the gates of heaven. There were so many people greeting him it nearly set a new record--all those Bob has visited with, prayed with, encouraged, and helped in their later years. Thank you, Bob, for serving your God and many of our family members so faithfully.

We have been truly blessed as a family to have Uncle Bob in our lives. His love for Jesus and his family was demonstrated in everything he did. I appreciate so much the time he spent talking about our family heritage and sharing about things that really matter in life. We are all better people because of him and he will be missed. Aunt Lil, Marilyn, Allen and family you are in our prayers.

I enjoyed speaking with Marilyn yesterday and hearing that Bob traveled to Africa with my Uncle Ray Anderson to build the orphanage in Liberia that my Aunt Agnes Carlson gave her life in service to for many years there.  Bob is another great man in the kingdom of our Lord ushered into His presence forever!  What a day that will be when we are all together forever never to be separated from each other again!  Our hearts go out to all the family-may you be comforted by His presence and all your many wonderful memories of Bob Lien!

Our hearts are full as we think back over the past years; the love and faithfulness Bob shared with so many.  His amazing ministry to those who were no longer able to get out and about; how he always made a point of greeting everyone.  Know we care and are praying for you at this time.  It brings joy to our hearts to imagine the welcome he received by so many dear ones who have gone before.

Bob has been an integral part our our lives for SO many years and he has been a great testimony of what a Godly life should be.  We will miss him.  However, what a great promotion he has received.  Now we pray for peace for all of you.  Blessings and as Bob would say, "Shalom".

Our hearts are saddened by the news  but what hope we have knowing that he is with the Lord! He was such an example to us and how we loved visiting with him and Lillian. We will be praying for God's

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was a great man of God. Remember how he loved to make us laugh. Now he is enjoying the sweet presence of our heavenly father.  He will be missed.

It was so great to see Uncle Bob at the Lien party and get a hug from him. Uncle Bob loved Jesus and one way he shared that love was visiting and praying with many many many sick and elderly people over the years. He also made birthday and Christmas and anniversary cards on his computer for the family (and others?). My boys might've gotten the last of the birthday cards on the 29th of Dec from Uncle Bob. He was also the story teller in the family - he remembered so many things! He will be missed much, but thank you God for the strange mix of joy and sorrow in times of death and entry into heaven.

Uncle Bob will live forever in all our hearts. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. 

I am so blessed and thankful that Bob Lien was my uncle. He was such an inspiration and role model for us all. Such a true man of God. He did not just talk the talk, he walked the walk. He touched so many lives in so many ways. He will be greatly missed! Such a comfort to know we will meet again some day!
