

Scott is survived by his daughter Christy Stevenson of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and by his three granddaughters Tallulah, Atlan and Zinnia. He also leaves behind a sister, Carolyn Wayland of Santa Rosa, California, and a brother, Craig Cochrane of Forestville, California, as well as nieces Katie Carter and Laura Cochrane, and nephew Chris Ware.
Scott was born in Greenbrae, California in 1955 and grew up in his family home in Kentfield, California. He was a boy chorister and acolyte at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ross, California, and a Boy Scout. He attended Redwood High School where he was a first-string offensive and defensive lineman on the football team and was an excellent hurdler on the track team.
After graduation, he attended the University of Idaho on a Naval ROTC scholarship and played center on the football team. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and joined Idaho’s Blue Mountain Rugby Club. After graduation and commissioning he went to Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia and played rugby for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy as a supply officer, stationed at NAS Sigonella, Sicily, Honolulu, Hawaii, and at several other duty stations. Scott moved to Seattle in 1987, where he worked for Continental Mills till his retirement in 2021.
Scott was a gentle and kind soul and had a sense of humor that all enjoyed. He loved trains and traveled on them as often as he could. He also enjoyed traveling to the family farm near Regina, Saskatchewan and on other family trips to England and Ireland. He was proud of his Scottish and Irish heritage and enjoyed wearing his Cochrane tartan kilt.
A memorial service will be held at his parish, St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle at 11am on Saturday, February 1, what would be his 70th birthday.
