Stan was born to Stanley and Johnnee Bartlett in Fairbanks, Alaska during a blinding snowstorm. He spent his early youth in the Ketchikan area where he had wonderful memories of his years on Annette Island. His sister, Johnnee Helen joined them in 1970.
Moving frequently with his Pan American Airlines family, he enjoyed living in California, Wake Island, and Hawaii before moving to the Seattle area where he met his wife of 42 years, Cheryl, in the ninth grade. Being an avid bowler as was Cheryl, Stan managed the Lewis and Clark Bowling Alley in Sea-Tac while attending Highline Community College before joining the US Army during the Vietnam War. Fortunately, Stan was stationed in Germany and Cheryl was able to join him after they were married on November 27th, 1965. They vacationed throughout Europe for two wonderful years until he left the service and returned to the Seattle area where Stan worked for JC Penney, managing the toy department, and Nordstrom. In 1977, he went to work for Langendorf Bakery Franz Gai’s where he worked for the next 30 years.
Two children joined Cheryl and Stan: Stanley Keith III Keith in 1979 and Kelli Michelle in 1981. They were Stan’s pride and joy and he loved helping with their schoolwork as well as their sports and hobbies throughout the years. Stan had an unbelievable knowledge of any subject. He was a walking calculator and trivia expert and was encouraged by many to try out for Jeopardy. He was known for sharing stories and making acquaintances and friends everywhere he went. He loved nature and the outdoors and spent many weekends camping, fishing and hiking with friends and family.
Left to cherish his memory is Cheryl his wife, son Keith, daughter Kelli, sister Johnnee West Virginia, Aunt Babe and Irene, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. We will miss him dearly.
