Stig Folke Tegman came into this world on May 8, 1938. Born to Edwin and Alma Tegman in Holmsund, a small town in northern Sweden, he was the second youngest in a family of seven boys and two girls. Folke’s family immigrated to the United States in April, 1952, a month before his 14th birthday. He met Margie, his wife of over 65 years, at James Monroe Junior High in Ballard.
The couple married on August 8, 1959, and went on to have three sons, Mike, Scott and Darrin. He served in the U.S Army from 1961-1963. Folke was a certified electrician for many years. In 1983, he opened his own business on a limited basis and built a base of loyal customers and referrals that kept him busy for several years. He retired in 1993 at the age of 55 due to on-going health issues. He and Margie shared many happy years in retirement.
Folke was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2015. In September, 2024, he moved to the Legacy in Bothell where he received tender, loving care from the wonderful staff. He was a man of faith and family; our protector; and a kind, patient, gentle person with integrity and a sense of humor; a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a shining example to his sons and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Son Scott, Daughter-in-law Rose, Parents Edwin and Alma, Siblings Asta (Stig), Joseph (Dagny), Lennart, Margaret (Elmer), Torsten and Gosta. He is survived by his Wife, Margie, Sons Mike and Darrin (Jill), Grandchildren Braden, Tanner (Sofia), Olivia and Kiley, Brothers Gunnar (Ann) and Kurt (Nancy), Sisters-in-law Tami, Jo and Susan. He was also fortunate to be loved by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of the family. He was blessed as were we and we are comforted by our cherished memories!
…For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains…
