Terrie was born Teruko Nakanishi on June 10, 1930, passed away Jan 29, 2017. Later she officially changed her name to Terrie Teruko Nakanishi. She is survived by her 3 sons, Calvin, Todd, and David (Marian); 6 grandchildren Naomi, Miya, Caroline, Nori, Koji, and Mari; and 2 brothers Ray Nakanishi and Wayne Nakanishi (Carol).
Earlier in her life, she loved to travel, took courses in apparel design, and enjoyed spending time with friends. After marriage to George Natsuhara, she spent her time caring for her 3 boys, but still found the time to train in Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arrangement) for over 25 years. In retirement, Terrie enjoyed having time to travel to Europe, Asia and the east coast, and spend time golfing.
As she became less mobile, Todd, her son, took care of her around the clock. They were able continue traveling around the world and stay in touch with her friends. They were constant companions at shows and sporting events in Seattle, so she was able to be up and about in Seattle while living in her home until her last day!
Funeral service will be held at the Seattle Buddhist Church on February 11, 2017 at 4:30 pm. A reception will be held directly following the service in the church’s gymnasium.
