Born in Dunoon, Scotland, to Peter and Margaret Boyers, Theresa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and determination. She was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, boundless warmth, and rich Scottish accent.
In 1962, she married Charles Frederick “Woody” Wood, a U.S. Navy Seaman, in Dunoon. The years they spent together during his deployment in Italy were among her happiest.
Theresa and Woody later made their home in Bremerton, Washington, to be near their daughters, Ursula and Cathleen. The birth of her grandson, Alex, in 2002 brought her greatest joy. She lovingly cared for him throughout his childhood, cherishing every moment as his devoted “Granny.”
A lifelong caregiver, Theresa created a home filled with comfort, laughter, and good food. She found joy in her garden, in music—especially opera—and most of all, in the company of family and friends.
Theresa was a warm and loving light in the lives of all who knew her, and her family will forever cherish the memory of her laughter, her strength, and the love she gave so freely.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Woody; her daughters, Ursula and Cathleen; and her cherished grandson, Alex. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Catherine, sisters Frances and Margaret, and many dear nieces and nephews in Ireland, Scotland, and Canada. She was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary Devlin.
Theresa’s family will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who were lucky enough to know her.
“Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day.”
