Thom was taken from us very suddenly and has gone to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 27, 2008. Thom was born June 23, 1969 in Milwaukee, WI. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Angela Rayborn-Miller, mother and father Faith and Richard J. Miller, Mother-in-law Lillie Rayborn and father-in-law Johnny and Irma Rayborn, sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Gary Kulinski, brother and sister-in-law Richard J. Miller II and Alisa, brother-in-laws Johnny III and La'Shamby Rayborn, four nieces and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
Thom was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, graduated from Washington High School in 1987; he then joined the Marines where he served for 7 years. He then relocated to the Seattle area where he worked at Goodrich repairing airplanes until 2007. He was presently employed at Café Presse and attending The International Culinary School At the Art Institute for his Culinary Degree.
Thom was a free spirit who enjoyed spending his time cycling, and completed a marathon and was now assisting others to achieve this amazing feat. Thom was a member of the Hash House Harriers of Western Washington and enjoyed many evenings running i.e. drinking and partaking in the sing-a-longs that only a true hasher could appreciate all right under the vibrant Seattle Full Moon. "On-On".
In life or death Thom was a giving and selfless soul. He was an organ and tissue donor and will give 20 to 30 individuals an opportunity to continue to thrive as Thom would have wanted.
He also grew out his beautiful hair just so he could donate it to Locks of Love so that children everywhere can have their own sense of normalcy. Whenever possible, he would lend a helping hand to anyone. Thom spent countless hours towing and picking people up in the scout. "SCOOOUUUUT!"
Thom was such a wonderful person; his light would shine on everything he did. He loved becoming a chef, it bread new life into his creative side. It was an exciting time. He once said it allowed him to be creative in a way that he has never experienced. The only love greater than cooking, was his love for music. Such eclectic taste: his iPod ran the gambit. Metallica Thom still had his high school concert t-shirts, Bluegrass not really sure where he picked up this bad habit, Christian rock ok, I'll be nice, Hip-Hop because he was so "hood", and Techno I know, I know, he did have some faults.
What a great loss to everyone who knew him.
Thom, you will be missed.
