Beloved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma Toyo Kimura Yanagawa passed away peacefully on August 8, 2010, six days after to her 89th birthday in Bellevue, WA. She was born in Enumclaw, WA on August 2, 1921 to Chiyono and Teisaku Katayama, one of nine children. She worked tirelessly at Kimura Nursery and Landscaping in Redmond, WA with her family and later at Bergman Luggage. Toy was preceded in death by husband and father of her children, Gene Kimura, by husband Kay Yanagawa who was an immense family supporter and her oldest daughter, Lola Jean Kimura. Also preceded in death were her brother Tad Katayama and sisters Yoneko (Hisayasu) Katayama, Sumiye Katayama, Yo (Iwana) Katayama and Connie (Kawahara) Kimura. Survived by her brothers Terry Katayama (Esther) of Lake Oswego, OR; Sid Katayama (Yo) of Seattle, WA; Bruce (Yeichi) Katayama of Hanford, WA; son Doug Kimura (Anna) of Woodinville, WA and daughter Cheryl (Kimura) Anderson (Bill) of Bellevue, WA. She was blessed with eight grandchildren - Gene (Kimura) Reuter; Casey Kimura; Kerry (Kimura) Zuraff (Jason); Randi Kimura; Ryan Kimura; Brent Anderson (Kelli) Bryce and Heidi Anderson; and two great-grandchildren - Ashlyn (Zuraff) and Kai (Anderson) with a third soon to arrive.
