Vito A. Grieco passed away peacefully August 25, 2016 in his Queen Anne home surrounded by close family. Vito, fondly known as "Vic," was born on April 27th 1930 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and joined the US Air Force following high school. After serving active duty in Japan during the Korean War, Vic settled in Seattle with his new wife Yasuko. Here they started a life together and soon formed a family with the birth of their daughter, Jo Ann. Vic studied engineering at the University of Washington where he spent the rest of his professional career making numerous contributions to the UW and the field of civil engineering. Many remember Vic as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who always had a story to tell, and a joke up his sleeve. Vic was preceded in death by his daughter Jo Ann and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Yasuko Grieco, and grandchildren Elliot and Evan Wilson. There will be a memorial held on Tuesday, August 30th at 11:00 am at the Butterworth Arthur A. Wright Chapel, located at 520 West Raye Street, Seattle WA 98119.
