Born March 13th, 1915 on Henry Island in the San Juan Islands to Cyrus and Emma Wright. She died peacefully January 8th, 2001 at the Masonic Retirement Home after an extended illness. Her family moved to Puyallup where she finished school and later married Jean barnes in 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband Jean D. Barnes in 1969. After Jean's death, Vivian, who had been a homemaker, decided to become a career woman, finished business school, and worked at Foster & Marshall Stock Brokerage until her retirement. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends, playing bridge a life-long love, digging clams and spending time with her children and their families. She is survived by daughters J'Otis J. Essman, Des Moines, Wa., Linda G. Browne, Friday Harbor, Wa., six grandchildren: Eric and Pam, Kurt and Nancy Essman, Kristy and Ken Ackerman, Debbie and Hogan Rishel, Penny and Stuart Dunn, and Candi and Gil Fryer; 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was deeply loved, and her family wishes her well in her third career as a Gaurdian Angel.
An Inurnment Service is scheduled for February 9th, 2001 at 12:30 PM at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery. Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer Research Study at the U of Washington or the American Diabetes Association.
