Vivian passed away March 4, 2016 at Rosemont Prestige Senior Living Facility, Yelm, Washington at the age of 88 with family and loved ones at her side. She was born on February 13, 1928 in San Francisco, California, the only child of Arvid and Florence Thorsen. She grew up in Daly City, and moved to the Northwest with her husband, Charles Hinton, in the late 1940's seeking for new adventures. Vivian enjoyed being a homemaker as well as the interior designer for the residential construction business of her husband. In 1960 she remarried to Arthur German and then because of her love and artistic talent for ceramics, opened and operated a ceramic shop located by Roosevelt High School for many years. Vivian also enjoyed singing, arts and crafts as well as traveling. One highlight of her life was a special trip to Sweden where she found the village of her father's ancestors. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage and always let the family know that she was a tough Swede. Vivian's great joy was being with her family. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Kostas) Kyrimis and Gayle (Steve) Beckendorf, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Hinton. We would like to thank the staff at Rosemont Prestige Senior Living Facility in Yelm for their amazing, loving care given during Vivian's last 12 years of life there.
