VIVIAN YVONNE HENRY, 84, passed away June 11, 2002 in Seattle. She was born September 30, 1917 in Bremond, TX., the daughter of Henry Morgan and Birdie Nelms Morgan. After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, TX., Vivian moved to Seattle to live with her brother Booker T. Morgan. She attended Seattle University. At 22 she met her future husband, Ray Henry at a Mount Zion Young People?s meeting. When Ray spotted Vivian on the bus stop at 24th and Boyer, his mother insisted he offer Vivian a ride. She accepted that ride and spent the next 62 years by his side. Vivian and Ray adopted 2 children, Janice Elaine and Ray Jr., aka Andre. Just when they thought they had completed their family, Vivian found herself pregnant and was blessed with three more children, including Darrell Duane, Vivian Diane and Pamela Anne. Vivian loved motherhood.
In 1957, Ray and Vivian started their own business. Vivian was the office manager and a true partner. She always had a pleasant work and a big smile for everyone. She would go to any length to help anyone. She found goodness in any situation and every person. Vivian often assumed a leadership role. She was president of the Madrona PTA, a troop leader for the Camp Fire Girls and served on the deaconess board. She often volunteered at the Mt. Zion Church Office. She was a member of the Elizabeth Wells Circle and both the Inspirational and Sanctuary Choirs.
Despite an extended illness and memory impairment she remained cheerful, concerned and always inquired about the health and well being of everyone she met. Her family dubbed her ?The Angel? and that is truly how she will be remembered.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 62 years Raymond Henry; daughters Vivian ?Diane? Wiggins and Pamela Anne Henry; sister Maxine Harris; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters and 3 children, Janice Elaine, Ray Jr.aka Andre Kevin and Darrell Duane Henry.
