
As age 11, Walt was placed in a prison camp for six months and then moved to another one in Munich until he was freed in 1945.
Walt came to the United States in 1951 where he met his bride Suzanne Podlesny.
They are the the proud parents of three children, Laurie Ann (husband Philip Logsdon), Walter Vincent (wife Michelle Cook) and Don Walter (preceded in death in 2013).
Walt and Suzanne have three grand children, Amy Van Ryswyk, James Van Ryswyk (wife Erin Van Ryswyk) and Andrea Cook.
They are great grandparents to Samantha Van Ryswyk.
Walt is known for his love of fishing every free chance he got. His family has many stories to share about his love for candy.
Walter Cook, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather left us on the morning of January 6, 2017.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home on Frideay, January 13th, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle, WA, 98133. Viewing will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 and the funeral service will start at 2:30. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
