Our precious dad, Warren C. Anderson Andy passed away March 8, 2002. He went to join his wife, Patricia Anderson Pat who left us on February 26, 2002. Warren was born July 30, 1924 in Seattle, the son of Vincent and Esther Anderson, brother of Blanche Nelson.
Warren and Pat grew up in Ballard and knew each other through grade school and Ballard High. After serving in the Navy in the South Pacific, Warren returned to Seattle to marry Pat in 1947. They made their first home in Phinney Ridge then returned to Ballard to raise their children Gordy and Lorrie. Warren delivered milk for Darigold and bread for Buchan?s and Orowheat and retired from Gai?s Bakery in 1986. Dad was always there with a helping hand, enthusiastically jumping into any project someone had before one knew what had happened. Dad loved living in Ballard and was proud of his Swedish heritage. He enjoyed his daily walks through Loyal Heights to the Sunset Hill Park ?The Lookout?, along the way visiting with neighborhood merchants, chatting with neighbors and pointing out sites to visitors. He shared his friendliness and took time to talk with them all.
Warren is survived by his son, Gordon Anderson Toni, daughter Lorrie Bredal Jan, his sister Blanche Nelson Robert, sister-in-law Evelyn Colby and numerous nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and, just 10 days before him, his wife Pat. He is once again by her side where he always wanted to be.
A neighbor wrote ?Ballard will never be the same? and our lives will never be the same without you, Dad.
Memorial services will be Sunday, March 17 2002 at 4pm and will be conducted at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave. N., Seattle. Please sign the online memorial book at www.evergreen-washelli.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
