He was born on August 23, 1952 as William Morton Farrar III (now you know why he preferred Bill), to Betty Graham and William Farrar Sr. He was a middle child, sandwiched between two older sisters and two younger twin brothers; which may be one of many reasons he developed a unique sense of humor that was Bill's trademark charm and personality.
The women in his life were numerous. He shared a love and life with the one woman that could get this very manly man to put on tights and a tutu (she was a ballerina) when he married Carolyn Atting Walker on November 17, 1979. He adored more than anything his daughters, Patricia and Melissa, who shared his love of Seattle sports teams. His weekends became a balance of dance recitals and Seahawk games, and he loved every minute of it.
He was proud to be the only one of his siblings to graduate from college, but it is his best guy friends from past and present, including Mt. Rainer High School Class of '71, that he cherished even more. He wore orange shoes long before it was stylish (and even longer after they were no longer stylish) and was the only golfer known to be a legend at both the Olympic Club and Wayne Public Golf Course.
He taught his siblings everything they know about cooking and culinary delights. Bill was often found in the kitchen or at the grill entertaining his friends and family with stories of his banishment from a small town (for a small misunderstanding over a fire) to recollecting childhood memories of setting small fires in the woods behind their Normandy Park home (honestly, he was not a firebug).
Bill may be best known for his term of endearment by calling all he loved - Jack. It is the Jacks and Jackettes in his life that will love and miss him dearly including his wife Carolyn Farrar, daughters Patricia Farrar and Melissa Farrar, father Bill Farrar Sr., siblings Kim Bjork, Maille Kessenich, Scott Farrar and Steve Farrar, and his numerous nephews and nieces.
