Bill was born on September 14, 1939, in McLean, Texas, to Elzie and Fannie Mae Reece.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna Markley; his children Janelle (Cliff) Blend, Kenneth (Diane) Reece, and Robin (Chuck) Draszt; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends he cherished as family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Reece, and his sons, Kelly and William Reece.
Bill ‘s career path was as diverse as it was meaningful. He worked as a grocery clerk, a mailman, and later as a furnace operator for Kwikset, a job he took tremendous pride in—he always said he loved going to work there. Later in life, after moving with his family from California to Washington state, he became a realtor and eventually retired as a certified nursing assistant.
To Bill, his most important role in life was being there for his family. He loved to share stories of his childhood in Buena Park, California and was known by all as a thoughtful listener and wise advisor.
Known affectionately as the “world’s greatest father, husband, brother, son, and friend,” Bill’s kindness and love left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
A memorial service for William will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
