

On Monday, August 8, 2011, Andrew Franklin Sanders passed away at the age of 91. Andrew was known as “Mickey” to his family and all his friends. Mickey was a World War II Vet in the Army Air Corps, he was a Master Mason for 50 years with Community Lodge No. 1201 in San Antonio, and a member of Fraternal Order Sons of Herman Prinz Soloms Lodge No. 136 in Bulverde.
He was succeeded in death by his sister Laverne Felix and first wife Janis (Schmidt) Sanders.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Frances (Flores) Sanders, two sons, Frank Sanders (Leslie) in Austin and James Sanders in Cibolo, his sister Leta Jean (Henry) Macina in San Antonio and five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three great grandchildren and stepchildren/step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mickey grew up in San Antonio and worked very hard his entire life. He was a commercial electrician, a builder and managed various businesses.
Mickey enjoyed his retirement years, which he spent primarily in Seguin with his “Honey,” Frances. He especially enjoyed his family and special friends.
Mickey was loved and respected by all he met. He always made everyone feel very special. If someone needed any help, Papa Mickey was always there with a smile.
The family sends a special thanks to the Nesbit Nursing Home in Seguin for making his last two years very comfortable and safe.
Viewing will be on Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goetz funeral home: 713 N. Austin St, Seguin, Texas.
Graveside service on Friday 10 a.m. at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park: 2951 Hwy 46 S, New Braunfels, Texas.
