

Arnold was born to Walter and Bertha Zuehl in Marion, Texas in 1917. He received his Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas (Austin) in 1944. He was a pharmacist in New Braunfels, Austin, Ft.Worth and Hurst, Texas. Arnold and his brothers, Monroe and Richard owned a farm in Marion, Texas. The land is still managed today by the Zuehl brothers’ children.
In 1945 Arnold married Vivian Marion. They had two children, Joy and Gaye, and lived in New Braunfels and Austin. They divorced in 1952. In January, 1968 he married Mildred Virene Allison, also a Pharmacist, in Austin Texas. They moved to Hurst, Texas and both worked as Pharmacists in the Ft. Worth area. Mildred Zuehl died in 1984. In 1996 Arnold moved back to New Braunfels, where he continued to live until his death.
Arnold is survived by two daughters, Joy Johnson and Gaye Fields (and her husband, Bob); By one brother, Monroe Zuehl; By grandchildren Kim Schmit (and her husband Steve), & James Alford (and his wife Vicki); By niece, Donna Simmons & nephew, Monroe Zuehl, Jr.; By great grandchildren Brett, Bryce & Kristina Schmit; By great nephew, Todd Simmons; great nieces Ashley Zuehl & Lorin Nagelmueller, plus numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, his youngest brother, Richard Zuehl, Richard’s wife, Doris, and his sister-in-law, Louise Zuehl.
The funeral will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church in Marion, Texas on 3/9/2013 at 1:00 p.m with interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, TX. The family wishes to thank the loving and caring employees of Sodalis Elder Living (aka Alzcare) and all the Angels from Hope Hospice.
