Frances Astran Astran Sanders

Frances Astran Sanders began her peaceful rest with God on September 11, 2014 having passed away at home in Seguin with her loving family by her side. Frances was born on October 10, 1921 in Seguin, Texas to Gregorio and Bartola Vielma . She was 92 years old when she came to rest. Frances was a vibrant and loving matriarch of her family, having spent most of her life in Seguin as an active member of the community and our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. When needed, she worked outside of her home as a waitress.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Franklin “Mickey” Sanders, her daughter Marcella Martinez and her grandson Rene’ Garcia.

She is survived by her son Jesse Martinez, her daughters Gloria Martinez, Theresa Martinez and Sylvia Garcia and her husband Joe. She will also be greatly missed by her step-sons Frank Sanders and his wife Leslie; and James Sanders as well as seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, cousins and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Frances’s life will be held in the Goetz Memorial Chapel at Goetz Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM officiated by Deacon Nick Carrillo. She will have her cremated remains interred with her husband at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at a later date.
