

Jim received his B.A. Degree from the University of Texas in Austin and a Masters of Art in English from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas.
He married Melody Teller on April 5, 1968. Jim taught school in Natalia, Texas and at Keystone School in San Antonio, Texas. He has been a tenured English Professor at St. Philips University over 40 years.
Jim was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Leslie Klaeveman; father, Ivie M. Klaeveman; grandparents: Walter & Louisa Stuermer, Herman & Minnie Klaeveman; step-grandmother, Lillie Klaeveman; aunts and uncles: Adolph & Crystal Stuermer, Sylvia Klaeveman, and Lester Klaeveman.
He is survived by his loving wife Melody Teller Klaeveman; 3 daughters, Melodie Sky Mulkey, Ivy Oliver with husband Patrick and Carli Klaeveman; 3 grandchildren, Felicia Guffy, Mason Oliver and Carson Oliver; his mother, Inez L. Klaeveman of Dallas, Texas; sister Jane Beneke with husband Ron; 3 nephews, Brian, Mark and Alex Beneke; and 2 brother-in-laws, Michael and Brett Teller.
