I was a student of Mr. Klaeveman last Fall.  He was a great instructor.  I just learned of his passing today.  My condolences to those who loved him and knew him well. I pray for your continued progression towards peace and comfort.

He was my6th grade teacher at Natalia Elem.  Loved him, he was just awesome.  A bunch of us picked up his Volkswagen and moved it once.  I just thought of him and did a Google search and found the article.  Always wondered where he went and what he did.  My deepest condolences and respect.

I am deeply saddened about the loss of one of the finest members of the English Department that I know.  I am sorry I could not attend the services for Jim as I was out of town and received that tragic news from my boss, Sean Nighbert.

I can say Jim was a true trooper.  He was dedicated and worked voraciously to ensure that his students received the proper knowledge and training needed to persevere in future academic endeavors.

Jim will be truly missed.  I liked sharing updates about my chihuahuas with Jim, for he seemed a bit smitten for Skeetzy (sorry if I misspelled.)

I shared an office suite with Jim in Norris at St. Philip's College for many years.  (I just retired this last year.) I apologize that I was unable to attend Jim's memorial service because I was out of town.
I know your family and his family at SPC and the ACC will dearly miss him.  He was a wonderful family man and faculty colleague.

I was one of many students who took an english course taught by Mr.Klaeveman and would like to send my condolences to his family at this very difficult time. It was due to his style of interpreting poems that moved me to start reading them more. He was an outstanding individual. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Klaeveman. He tought me well, and I will remember him.

Mr. Klaeveman was my teacher at Keystone from 1970 to 1974. For four years he shared his knowledge and love of great literature, taught a tough course in grammar and construction of reports that lasted me through 4 degrees from Texas A&M. I remember Mr. and Mrs. K, you even hosted a party for us circa 1972 in your home and we appreciated that so much, being accepted and hosted so graciously.  Today, among my jobs, I am a professional writer and published author, and without doubt, I owe my perseverance, inspiration and willingness to work hard to master writing 'correctly' thanks to Jim Klaeveman. I was one of the kids who worked at the school in the summer and remember him well sanding desks, varnishing them, and even driving the blue school bus for all the kids he took...so many of us are in shock, disbelief and denial at this time of 'our' loss, but please know that our prayers for comfort for you and all your family are with you. Jim Klaeveman remains our mentor, our guide, our hero, and our friend, in this lifetime and beyond. Please know we share your loss and hold you in our hearts. With great respect,

Mr. Klaeveman was my English teacher at Keystone in the 70's.  I wasn't an A student, but that didn't seem to bother him. He instilled in me the love of literature, but not of diagramming a sentence.  When my brother died in highschool I felt his genuine sorrow.  You just can't hide tears.  With tears in my eyes now. I send you my deepest sympathy.

Mr. Klaeveman was my English teacher at Keystone in the early 1970s.  He inspired us, mentored us, pushed us, and we loved him.  My condolences to his family, he will be missed.

I so enjoyed Prof. K's lectures they often inspired me to read or write. His selection(s)often taught "The human condition"..where it is leading and the changes we can make to help humanity. He will be truly missed.

I just found out the sad and terrible news. I send my condolences to his family at this very difficult time. I was a former student of his and he was indeed an inspiring, helpful, warm teacher. He never liked to be called Professor he said that from day 1 in class. He always keep things straight and simple. He will be dearly missed by those whom had the pleasure of knowing him.

Klaeveman Family, my condolences to you from an old former student of " Captain K " as I warmly referred to him.  He was 'THE BEST' english professor ever.  It is an honor to call my self one of his ex students.

I remember Mr. Klaeveman fondly. I regret that I let so many years go by without renewing contact. To his family, I hope you know how much he meant to me and how he influenced my future and that of all my Keystone friends. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I worked with Jim at St. Philip's for over twenty years and valued his insights, his creativity, and his quick sense of humor!  My condolences to his family and colleagues.

I had the pleasure of taking American Literature with Professor Klaeveman this past spring semester. As an adult student returning to college after 17 years, he was so very encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and my thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
