

J. Frank Corry Sr. born to Benjamin and Mattie Lou Corry, February 18, 1928 in Prosper, Texas passed away on August 23, 2012 at the age of 84. Mr. Corry is survived by Joyce Callaway Corry, his wife of 47 years; 7 children: Judy Huether Corry, Janis Lhotka (Jim), Thomas Frank Corry (Monica), Renee Stewart, Lisa Schmoekel (Dean), Lyta Theiss (Billy) and J. Frank Corry Jr. (Laura), 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 sisters residing in McKinney and Henderson, Texas: Mary Schuler, Dorothy Ronan, Ora Evelyn Applebee, Oleta Jenkins and Mattie Maloney. Mr. Corry served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was an observer on the USS Shangri-la aircraft carrier at the test of the atomic bomb at Bikini Atoll. He also served in the Korean Campaign. When he was discharged from the Navy, Mr. Corry became a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office and retired after 30 years of service. He was a letter carrier in Seguin for part of that time.
Visitation will be held at Goetz Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. with a funeral service held on Monday at 10 a.m. with Paul Theiss and Rev. Jeremy Roy presiding. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers are Robert Cockrell, Bobby Henze, Valdo DeLaGarza, Dave Holohan, Woody Ellis and Kenneth Schulz.
