

He received a Bachelor of Arts Double Major in Sociology/History from the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduated from the Eastern School of Farriery in Martinsville, VA, and received a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a farrier and blacksmith for 14 years before moving to San Antonio, TX where he met and married Donna Ann Butler. He was a librarian at Trinity University for 4 years before going to the San Antonio Public Library system where he worked until 2014. He was currently working at Texas Lutheran University Blumberg Memorial Library.
Michael enjoyed hiking, spending time on his tractor, and playing with his grandchildren. He taught himself to play the guitar and was constantly working to improve his technique. He loved the Big Bend and Chihuahuan Desert area of Texas and had hoped to retire to Alpine, TX.
He was a volunteer for the Wayne/Pike Adult Literacy Program in Pennsylvania where he was Tutor of the Year and a member of the Board of Directors. When he moved to San Antonio he volunteered for the Alamo Area Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael (Mickey) John Kaminski, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Donna Kaminski; stepchildren Katrina Hernandez, Jeffrey Hernandez and wife Beth, grandchildren Kalynn Norbury and Rylin Norbury; mother, Nancy G. Kaminski; sisters, Michele Kaminski and Carolyn Kaminski, and brother Joe Kaminski and wife Becky.
Michael had a kind spirit and a gentle heart. He was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
