

Norbert “Red” Schrank of Seguin, TX was born in Guadalupe County on January 21, 1933 and passed away on March 24, 2010 at the age of 77 years. Red is preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola A. Schrank; parents, Henry Schrank, Sr. and Meta Friedeck Schrank; brothers, Reno and Milton Schrank; sisters, Alice Huff, Dorothy Vollmar and Ruby Maierhofer. He is survived by his loving companion of 16 years, Joann Close; daughter, Gail M. Nagelmueller and her husband Richard; sons, Ronald and Ricky L. Schrank; brothers, Henry Schrank, Jr. and Nelson Schrank; sisters, Irene Koepsel and Margie McCauley; and grandchildren, Tiffany D. and Jennifer L. Nagelmueller, Sarah, Kaye, Bradley, Phillip and Matthew Schrank. One of Red’s passions was playing cards. He enjoyed playing Gin Rummy, but his most favorite game had to be Skat. He was even known to play in Skat tournaments. His skill at playing cards was great, but it didn’t hold a candle to his greatest skill. Red was a very skilled and accomplished Man. He was a very loving husband, companion, father and grandfather. He was such a gentle and kind man. And if that wasn’t enough, he also had an amazing sense of humor. A visitation will be held in the Goetz Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Goetz Chapel on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM with interment to follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
