Barry G Becker

BECKER, Barry Gene, 68 of St Petersburg, FL passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Bay Pines VA Health Center System. Barry was born on October 31, 1948 in Dubuque, Iowa to Gene & Mary (Wickler) Becker. Barry was a carpenter, yacht builder, fisherman and Robin's best friend and husband. After serving our country in the US Navy, he became a Finish Carpenter and a Yacht Builder. He enjoyed fishing and camping in Florida and Georgia as well as spending time in his workshop with his cats. Barry wanted to spend the last two days of his life at home with his family. For many weeks Barry was in Bay Pines Hospital, but despite all efforts, his body did not respond to treatments and died due to cancer. Bay Pines Hospice gave Barry final restful hours. Robin Becker thanks all of Bay Pines staff; many of which he thought of as friends after so many years of care and offering medical specialties.

Barry is survived by his loving wife, Robin, his daughter, Meredith; his mother, Mary, which misses her "Buddy"; his brother, Randy; his sister, Suzanne and granddaughter, Abagail. Barry was preceded in death by his father, Gene Becker.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Good Samaritan Church, 6080 Park Blvd, Pinellas Park, FL.

Barry will be missed by all who loved him. He appreciated all of the prayers offered for his peace; now there is no pain.
