Corinne Duroure, 56, a great friend, an outstanding lifelong athlete, and someone who shared her joie de vivre with everyone around her, died peacefully after a very brief illness on June 11, 2018. Corinne was the youngest of 3 daughters of the late Richard and Frances Duroure. She grew up outside of Buffalo, NY where she was a gifted figure skater and talented athlete in other sports as well.
After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, she moved to the east coast of Florida where she began her professional career as a property manager. She subsequently moved to the west coast to be nearer her parents and aunt and uncle, all of whom were the beneficiaries of her love, care, support and wonderful senses of humor and fun. She was an employee of AFLAC at the time of her death.
Corinne spent a great deal of time engaged in athletic activities, all of which where she excelled. These included golf, tennis, swimming and kayaking. Interestingly, but not surprising to anyone who knew her, in between the challenges posed by her illness in the past few weeks, she won a “longest ball” prize at a local golf tournament.
Corinne is survived by her fiancé, Thomas White; sisters, Charisse Duroure (Joe Morrone) and Darlene (Pat Walsh); nephews Dan, Kevin and Brian Walsh and her godchildren, Nicole, Nicholina, Melania and Giovanni Monticelli. She is also survived by literally legions of family and friends whose love and support were there for her as she was always there for them.
