Tina, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on earth was one marked by love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends whose lives were made better by her.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Byrd Bowersett, her granddaughter, Juniper Amalia Peterson, and her brother, Miguel Mariano Mencia. Tina is survived and dearly missed by her children, Dustin William Bowersett and Carly Amalia Peterson; her grandchildren, Lola Byrd Bowersett, Ophelia Eve Peterson, and Beau Alan Bowersett; her daughter-in-law, Lauren Elizabeth Bobek; her son-in-law, Michael Anthony Peterson; her sister, Ana Maria Mencia Harrison; her two brothers, Manuel ‘Manny’ Francisco Mencia and Juan ‘Jack’ Andres Mencia; her Goddaughter Michelle Lisa Pardillo; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tina grew up in Lake Barcroft, VA. She moved to Florida to live on the beach and start her family, working in residential real estate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental sustainability. Her greatest joy and achievement was her close-knit family. She took an active role in the lives of her children and grandchildren, always sharing advice on parenthood. She was an outstandingly loving and affectionate mom and grandma.
Tina had an infectiously positive outlook on life. She was highly active and always on the go. She enjoyed walking in her local parks and spending time in the sun. She remained inquisitive throughout her life and always held a good conversation. She was fascinated by her local wildlife and loved to capture special moments with her family and friends.
A celebration of life in her honor will take place at The DoubleTree on North Redington Beach on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 6:30 pm.
There will be a private funeral Mass held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at the Boca Raton Mausoleum, where she will rest alongside her beloved granddaughter, Juniper.
