He and his wife Caroline were married for 57 years when she preceded him in death. After moving to Florida in 1958, they founded and operated Merios Foods where the smell of pizza became one of his children’s favorite memories. He was active in the lives of his sons, coaching little league, baseball and football. He and Caroline were avid travelers often bringing family along with them.They were known to be the life of the party and he was always ready to be the first to tap the keg. Jack had a long career as an optician. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and participating in Mainlands many events where he made many longtime friends.
His brother Robert and son Mark preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Randy and Jay, daughters-in-law Febe and Valarie; nine grandchildren, Randy and Jason Lossa, Amber Stout, Tom, Christina and Emmalee Lossa, Shawna Morgan, Nicholas Engwall and Vivien Felisha Cimafranca; and five great grandchildren.
