Marcia Virginia Allen

Marcia Virginia Allen 93 of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully July 13, 2022. Marcia was born July 14, 1928 in Troy, Ohio as the only child of Robert and Mary Chase. Marcia survived the love of her life, Sam Allen by only 25 days.

She met Sam at Bob Jones University and they were married on June 17, 1951. She is survived by her 3 children; Kathy (Don) Bates, Debbie (David) Welch and Jim (Beth) Allen as well as 4 grandchildren; Kimberly (Adam) Young, Michelle (David) Mansolino, Scott (Dayna) Bates and Timothy (Rob) Allen and 9 great grandchildren.

During her working years she was instrumental in building 2 important businesses in Seminole, Florida, the Allen Sports Center and the Allen R Shuffleboard Co. While business was instrumental to her life, there was nothing more important to Marcia than her family. She loved large family gatherings during the holidays, especially with good food and humorous stories to be shared. Her Christian faith guided her not only in her daily life but she had a special affinity for anything related to the Christmas Season.

Music was also important to Marcia and she loved playing the piano, especially the old hymns she and her father sang in her formative years. The record books will tell us the marriage of Sam and Marcia lasted 71 years and 1 day, but those that knew their relationship will insist it is one for eternity.

They will be interred together at the Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole, Florida at a future date. Marcia’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to worthwhile charities of your choice, including the American Heart Association.
