

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother whose life was centered on family. Her home was always open- full of warmth, hospitality, and welcoming to anyone who walked through the door. She loved to travel and was always ready for a new adventure, embracing life with curiosity and joy.
She was especially known for her home-cooked traditions, including her beloved apple and raisin cake and potato salad, which brought comfort and connection to many family gatherings. Her laughter was infectious.
Her legacy includes six daughters: Maria Berin (Husband Jeff) of NC, Kathie Kinney of NJ, Karen Durham of FL, Jeanne Siegel (Husband Ted) of FL, Carol Payne (Husband Charles) of TN, Amy Kimball of NJ. She was blessed by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of forty-six years, James L. Durham, and their son Roy Durham; as well as six brothers, Stephen, Joseph, Carl, John, Henry, and Frank Fischbach Jr., and two sisters, Anna Lotsey and Rosina Gould.
She will be deeply missed by many relatives, friends, and neighbors from near and far, whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, and steady presence.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fisher House Foundation in Maria's name.
