Marjorie A Vogg Waid

She had an older brother, Virgil and a twin brother, Melvin, all deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph L. Waid.

They moved to Largo, Florida in 1955 from Rockford, Michigan. Marjorie moved to Lakeland in 2000.

Surviving are her daughter, Marcia Kehler and her husband, Keith of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Kevin of Brooklyn, NY., and Victoria of Lakeland, FL; sister-in-laws, Ruth Waid of Rockford, MI, Marian Waid of Elkhart, IN and brother-in-law Darwin Waid of Rockford, MI., and many nieces and nephews.

She was an avid Bingo player at her assisted living and attended The First United Methodist Church of Largo, FL for 42 years, and later, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, FL. She was a member of Homebuilders Sunday School Class. In 1962, she organized the first alumni association from Ferris institute, Big Rapids, MI., now Ferris State University. They continue to have two alumni meetings a year in Florida.

Her family would like to thank the kind workers at Emertis Assisted Living and Palm Terrace Nursing Home for her care.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to: the scholarship fund for the Homebuilders Class at First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801.

Visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the funeral home with committal prayers and interment at Garden Sanctuary Cemetery with a reception to follow in the funeral home.
