Nicholas A. Dorando

DORANDO, Nicholas A., 86, of Largo, FL passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at home under the care of hospice and his loving family. He was born in Lyndhurst, NJ and moved to Largo, FL in 1985 from Whiting, NJ. He retired from Anheuser Busch Corp. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Largo, FL and Elks Lodge #21 of Newark Bloomfield, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Theresa, his son, Nicholas G. and his sister, Connie Giampietro.

Survivors include a son, Dennis (Kathleen) of Newport, RI; a daughter, Laura (Joe) Servo of Largo, FL; a brother, Gus; sisters, Florence Zecca and Marie Tetla; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Dorando; 6 grandchildren, Joseph & Michael Servo, Angela Wilson, Jennifer & Lindsey Niejadlik, and Nicholas Dorando, and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation held 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Sunday January 9, 2011 at the funeral home with the service at 7:00 p.m. and service provided by the Elks at 7:30 p.m.

Committal services and Military Honors held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
