

Betty Jane Keyes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on June 10th, 2012, in her home with her family at her side. Betty was born on March 3, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a young girl she moved to Newberg, Oregon with her Grandparents and that’s where she met her future husband Frank Keyes. They were married August 5, 1944. Betty and Frank had two children, Kathy and Doug, two grandchildren, Chip and Karen, and 3 great grandchildren. Betty’s devotion to her husband and family were the finest example of what lifelong commitment means.
Frank served 29 years in the US Navy, and Betty loved being a military wife. In 1971, Frank retired, and they moved to Sequim. Betty was active in the Sequim Hospital Guild for many years; she was an avid bridge player. Betty was filled with kindness and tenderness, she radiated love and acceptance. She loved nature, the flowers in her garden, the hummingbirds that flew by her window. Betty’s smile is remembered by everyone who knew her. No matter how difficult life was, she was always smiling.
