

Mrs. Scheid was born in Calabash on June 23, 1932 and was daughter of the late Foster and Evie Beck Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Scheid and a grandson Tyler Faulk. She graduated from Shallotte High School in 1952. Doll was a forerunner in the establishment of Calabash Volunteer Fire Department as well as the ABC Store in Calabash.She and her late husband owned and operated Thomas Seafood Restaurant of Calabash for 45 years. She was also instrumental in bringing infrastructure to Calabash and the incorporation of Calabash. Her late husband Ronnie was the first Mayor of Calabash in 1973. Doll was also recognized as one of the Ten Most Influential Women in Brunswick County. She had numerous friends and served as a second Mom to many children in the Calabash area and others who referred to her as Aunt Doll.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Fearnside and husband David of Supply, NC; Tammy Berry and husband Rob of Cedar Grove, NC; grandchildren, Kramer Faulk and wife Taryn of Durham, NC, Steven Fearnside and wife Heather of Boston, MA; and Hannah Grace Berry of Cedar Grove, NC; a brother, Royland “Babe” Thomas of Calabash, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jack Patrick officiating.
