Ms. Branon was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. on February 2, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Norman freeman Pike and Nettie Gant Pike. She retired from Hanes Knitting of Winston-Salem after 40 years of employment and she also participated in their bowling league.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Stephens and husband Danny of Bolivia; two grandchildren, Adriane Stephens and Matthew Stephens and wife Deanna of Winston-Salem; five great-grandchildren, Abbagail, Madison, Levi, Wyatt and Caroline; two sisters, Nancy Shoemaker and Doris Ann Pike of Winston-Salem.
